"Born in Shiraz, near the desert fields of Iran, Tooji celebrated his first birthday on the journey while immigrating to Norway. Raised with the prosperity of two cultures, he showed talents at an early age within performing, arts and musicality. Though with a reality that taught him the values of hard work and love, he had a different perspective compared to other children. Not coming from an upper-class family, he would see the hardship of his mother, working day and night for her children to get the possibilities that she didn't have in her upbringing.
Starting with modeling at the age of 17, he landed his first show as a VJ for MTV only a couple of years later. Kicking it off every Saturday with «Tooji's Top 10» he quickly got introduced to the entertainment industry. After graduating from college, Tooji found himself heading towards acting and music, with his passion rapidly growing, he knew this was the path of his life.
At the same time as hosting, working and learning all he could bouncing from one studio to nother, gathering all the experience in order to evolve as a singer and songwriter. Although building up work experience within studios, Tooji had no experience whatsoever on an actual stage. His first time performing musically, was actually set live on national television where he won the Melodi Grand Prix and represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest.
At the same time as pursuing his artistic passion, Tooji completed his bachelor in children's welfare pedagogical studies and worked in the Norwegian children’s welfare system, which he experiences to be intense and social, challenging and important.
When I got involved in cases and people I wanted to help, I knew the political arguments, rules and regulations and laws - but I wasn't heard. It was so frustrating. My commitment was not enough, and it became an important motivation factor in my wish to obtain a voice that someone would hear.
Experiencing children within the welfare system, trafficking victims, immigrants, teenagers within asylums, gave him an even more important calling in life, to use his publicity to give a voice to those who cannot/have not been heard.
Pursuing his two passions, Tooji also worked within the Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs evolving the communication strategy 2013-2016. While travelling around the country, visiting children and youth institutions, and working on the marketing strategy representing foster care campaigns, he also continued hosting for TV stations like NRK and Nickelodeon.
Currently back with his new single «Rebels», representing a new depth of Tooji both musically and visually. Creating a dark pop landscape with artistic visuals, where electronic elements meets Native American influence, Tooji shows the audience a dynamic and dramatic side of him. «Rebels» is produced by Swedish hit maker Chris Wahle, capturing Tooji's essence and creating a sound like no other.
